|Monochromatic

Monochromatic is Loïck Pingaud's first project as a freelance Fashion Designer and Pattern Maker. With white as the centre of this unisex capsule collection, he wanted to break the general conception of a monochromatic fashion, almost exclusively focus on dark colours, and thereby present an opposition to his previous work. To emphasise this vision of a bright, one-coloured aesthetic, the designer selected fabrics commonly used in black, including vinyl and thin faux leather. Usually employed in more scenic settings, at the border with the world of the set costume — where dystopian ideologies and fetish dominate — the use of those textures in white coalesce with fabrics inspired by the bridal and furniture wardrobes. Cream light satin and silk, along with thicker fabrics such as woollen cloth and neoprene, unite to design a project centred on structures and volumes. This duality of materials enables the architectural lines of the collection to be defined and creates a pure vision of Loïck Pingaud's style essence.
